For a few moments before being able to write this intro, I was wondering why I couldn't eloquently describe Brandon as easy as I anticipated. But then I received a text from Brandon about how he compared the few days before starting work at CivitasNow to how it felt on Christmas Eve. Then it hit me. Brandon is smart, tactful, patient and ambitious. It's that enthusiasm that can't be described - you have to feel it.
I'm excited to have Brandon working as an Account Executive with CivitasNow this summer. It also doesn't hurt that he's a sharp dresser.
1. Where do you attend college and what is your major?
I go to Ohio State, and, regrettably, major in Finance.
2. Where do you call home?
I'm kind of a nomad when it comes to home (I've moved 13 times so far), but I'll consider Columbus home for as long as it'll have me, or until the next best offer.
3. Why on Earth are you working with CivitasNow?
After deciding I didn't want to become the next Wolf of Wall Street, I realized I'd rather become the next Mark Cuban, with a hint of Don Draper. Before I could do that, I realized I needed couple of things first: some experience in advertising, a LOT of experience with startups, and a LOT MORE money. CivitasNow helps me with the first two, I don't get paid enough for the third thing (I'm only an intern).
4. Why are you interested in advertising and outdoor marketing?
After seeing the work that these guys do, I was totally bought in. I've drank the Kool-Aid and I truly believe that this company can shake up the way we advertise throughout the Midwest and beyond. If there is anything I can do to help that, then it'll be done.
5. If you were given a free full-page ad in the newspaper and had to sell yourself in six words or less, how would the ad read?
Don't limit me to just six.
6. What two weapons would you bring to a zombie apocalypse?
Other than my two guns , totally kidding, I would bring a fresh pair of Puma's, because thats what Usain Bolt wears, so I can run away really fast, and a stash of Twinkies because they never expire and are really good.
7. What movie character do you think you are and why?
Michael Jordan from Space Jam because I'm a terrible actor but I get buckets.
8. What’s the best piece of advice you were ever given and who gave it to you?
"Some men see things as they are and say, 'Why?' I dream of things that never were and say, 'Why not?'" Its from Robert Kennedy, and its the best thing I ever learned from a college class. My professor said that if we want to change the world somehow, we have to have this mindset or we're just gonna be clones.
9. What do you hope to accomplish alongside us?
First off, I want to learn as much as I possibly can. I want to be a sponge and soak up knowledge of how to run a business, how to interact with clients, and how to be truly effective on a team, not just in sports.
Additionally, I want people's jaws to drop. With the clients we can service paired with the creative geniuses that are scattered about CivitasNow, that should be easier than beating Shaquille O'Neal in a spelling bee.
