One of our favorite clients came to us once again with a great new idea they put together: The Columbus Photo Challenge. The idea is to mark picture-perfect areas around the Downtown/Short North area, so that visitors and residents can search and discover places that are not only beautiful, but are close to great things to do. They also wanted to spotlight some local instagrammers by using their images of Columbus for the markers.
We decided to use one of our favorite types of media, Pavement Graphics. To represent the mobile-based photo challenge, we created three and a half foot iPhone-shaped graphics that displayed the Instagrams of each location, and a URL to the Photo Challenge Page. Participants can walk around the city, and take the same photo as displayed on the graphics. That way, they have a postcard-worthy photo series of which to remember their trip to Columbus.
We were thrilled with how this campaign turned out. We love the unique design of the graphics, and the images turned out great. The community has been eating it up as well. The hashtag #expcols has been growing more than ever, and the feedback on their Facebook page has been out of this world.
