2015 Home Opener
The Columbus Blue Jackets made some key trades and acquisitions in the off-season, making them a highly anticipated team within the NHL. In order to encourage that anticipation, the Blue Jackets challenged us to create an experience that not only created excitement on opening day, but also boosted ticket sales to help sellout the arena. This campaign was a complete Arena District takeover. For the main photo worthy piece, we built a custom 40-foot projection screen behind the Arch in McFerson Commons, and projected a full motion video created specifically for this iconic arch, highlighting the Blue Jackets history and hyping up fans for what was sure to be an incredible season.
This execution ran for two consecutive nights, including the night of the Columbus Blue Jackets home opener. Located in the heart of Columbus' Arena District, the projection display was placed directly across the entrance to Nationwide Arena, surrounded by several bars and restaurants as well as McFerson park. This area is home to countless young professionals, and the home opener brought in a crowd of over 18,000, not including the neighboring bars and restaurants displaying the game.
